Biography

Celine Dion is a Canadian singer, songwriter, and actress who rose to worldwide fame for her powerful vocals and emotional performances. She was born on March 30, 1968, in Charlemagne, Quebec, Canada. From a young age, Dion displayed a passion for music and began singing at local events in her hometown. At the age of 12, she recorded a demo tape with the help of her mother and caught the attention of music manager Rene Angelil. Impressed by her talent, Angelil mortgaged his house to finance her debut album. Dion’s career took off in the 1990s when she released her English-language album, Unison, which featured the hit single Where Does My Heart Beat Now. Her powerful voice and ability to convey deep emotions resonated with audiences, earning her international acclaim. In 1992, Dion recorded the theme song for the Disney film Beauty and the Beast, a duet with Peabo Bryson. The song became an instant success, winning an Academy Award and a Grammy, and firmly establishing her as one of the music industry’s biggest stars. Over the years, Dion continued to release chart-topping albums and unforgettable singles, including My Heart Will Go On, the theme song for the blockbuster film Titanic. In 1999, she took a break from her career to focus on her family and care for her husband, Rene Angelil, who was diagnosed with throat cancer. Tragically, Angelil passed away in 2016.
