Claire Trevor was an American actress who was born on March 8, 1910, in Brooklyn, New York. She began her acting career in the early 1930s and quickly gained recognition for her talent and versatility. Trevor’s breakthrough role came in 1937 when she starred in the film Dead End, for which she received critical acclaim. This performance marked the beginning of a successful career in Hollywood that spanned more than six decades. Throughout her career, Trevor showcased her skills in a wide range of genres, from drama and film noir to comedy and westerns. She became known for her ability to portray complex characters with depth and authenticity. Her notable film credits include Key Largo, Stagecoach, and Murder, My Sweet. Trevor’s exceptional acting abilities were rewarded with numerous accolades, including an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Key Largo in 1949. She was also nominated for two other Academy Awards during her career. Apart from her film achievements, Trevor also made significant contributions to the stage and television industry.
