D’Angelo, born Michael Eugene Archer on February 11, 1974, is an American singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist known for his soulful R&B music. He was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia, and grew up surrounded by music, starting to play the piano at a young age.
