Biography
David Duchovny is an American actor, writer, and musician, best known for his role as Fox Mulder on the popular science fiction TV series The X-Files. Born on August 7, 1960, in New York City, Duchovny was raised in a Jewish household. He attended Princeton University, where he studied English Literature and played on the school’s basketball team. After graduating, Duchovny pursued a career in acting, initially appearing in off-Broadway plays and commercials. In 1993, he landed his breakthrough role as FBI Agent Fox Mulder on The X-Files, a role that would define his career and earn him critical acclaim. His portrayal of Mulder’s unique mix of skepticism and belief in the supernatural made him a fan favorite. During his time on The X-Files, Duchovny also explored other acting opportunities. He starred in various films, including Kalifornia (1993) and Return to Me (2000). In 1997, he won a Golden Globe for his role on the TV series and has received several Emmy nominations throughout his career. In addition to his acting work, Duchovny is also a talented writer. He released his debut novel, Holy Cow, in 2015, and followed it up with two more novels, Bucky F*cking Dent in 2016 and Miss Subways in 2018. His writing showcases his wit and unique storytelling abilities. Aside from his creative pursuits, Duchovny has also explored his passion for music. In 2015, he released his debut album, Hell or Highwater, showcasing his talents as a singer-songwriter.
