David Lynch is an American filmmaker, visual artist, musician, and writer known for his distinctive and often surrealistic style of filmmaking. He was born on January 20, 1946, in Missoula, Montana. After studying painting at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Lynch developed a keen interest in filmmaking and attended the American Film Institute in Los Angeles.
