Elize, also known as Elize Ryd, is a Swedish singer and songwriter. Born on October 15, 1984, in Varnamo, Sweden, Elize developed an early passion for music and performing. She rose to prominence as the lead vocalist of the melodic metal band Amaranthe. Elize began her musical journey by taking classical piano lessons at five years old. She later discovered her love for rock and metal music, citing artists like Whitney Houston and Iron Maiden as her early influences. Elize honed her vocal skills and stage presence by participating in various talent shows and performing with local bands. In 2008, Elize joined the newly formed band Amaranthe, alongside Olof Morck and Joacim Jake E Lundberg. The group’s unique fusion of melodic metal, pop, and EDM elements quickly gained them a dedicated fanbase.
