Enya is an Irish singer, songwriter, and musician who gained international fame for her ethereal and atmospheric sound. Born as Eithne Padraigin Ni Bhraonain on May 17, 1961, in Gweedore, County Donegal, Ireland, Enya began her musical journey at a young age. Coming from a family with a deep musical background, Enya joined her family’s band, Clannad, in the early 1980s. However, it wasn’t until she embarked on her solo career that she truly found her individual musical style. Enya’s music is characterized by layered vocals, lush instrumentation, and haunting melodies, often incorporating elements of New Age, Celtic, and pop genres.
