Biography
Faith Evans is an American singer, songwriter, and record producer. Born on June 10, 1973, in Lakeland, Florida, Faith developed a passion for music at an early age. She honed her vocal skills by singing in church choirs and school talent shows. In the early 1990s, Faith moved to Los Angeles to pursue her music career further. She caught the attention of music producer Sean Combs and signed with his record label, Bad Boy Records. Faith’s debut album, Faith, was released in 1995 and achieved considerable success. Its lead single You Used to Love Me became a hit, solidifying her place in the R&B and hip-hop scene. Over the years, Faith continued to release successful albums, including Keep the Faith (1998), Faithfully (2001), and The First Lady (2005). Her soulful voice and emotive lyrics attracted a loyal fan base, and she became known for her ability to blend R&B with elements of hip-hop and gospel. Apart from her solo career, Faith collaborated with various artists and contributed to numerous soundtracks. One of her most notable collaborations was with The Notorious B.I.G., whom she married in 1994. Following his tragic death in 1997, Faith released a tribute album titled The King & I in 2017, featuring duets with Biggie and other unreleased material.
