Growing up in a family deeply involved in the film industry, Dorleac developed a keen interest in acting from a young age. Dorleac embarked on her acting career in the early 1960s and quickly gained recognition for her talent and beauty. She made her film debut in 1960 in the film La Peau et les Os, directed by Jean-Paul Sassy. However, it was her role as Christine Darbon in the French New Wave film Les Demoiselles de Rochefort in 1967 that catapulted her to international fame. The film, directed by Jacques Demy and co-starring her sister Catherine Deneuve, showcased Dorleac’s exceptional acting abilities and singing talent. She appeared in notable films like Cul-de-sac (1966) and La Chamade (1968), where her performances were highly praised by critics and audiences alike.
