George Timothy Clooney is an American actor, director, producer, and philanthropist. He was born on May 6, 1961, in Lexington, Kentucky, to a family deeply involved in the entertainment industry. His father, Nick Clooney, was a renowned journalist and television host, while his mother, Nina Bruce Warren, was a beauty queen and city councilwoman. Clooney began his acting career in the late 1970s with small television roles before landing his breakthrough role as Dr. Doug Ross on the hit medical drama ER in the 1990s.
