Biography
George Ezra is an English singer-songwriter who shot to fame with his soulful voice and folk-inspired tunes. Born as George Ezra Barnett on June 7, 1993, in Hertford, England, he developed a passion for music at a young age. Growing up, he was heavily influenced by legendary artists such as Bob Dylan and Woody Guthrie, who inspired him to learn the guitar and start writing songs of his own. Ezra’s musical journey began when he moved to Bristol to pursue a degree in Music at the influential music college, the British and Irish Modern Music Institute. It was during this time that he started gaining attention in the local music scene, performing at various open mic nights and small venues. His distinct baritone voice, reminiscent of a much older soul, instantly captivated listeners and set him apart from his peers. In 2013, Ezra released his debut EP titled Did You Hear the Rain? This success was followed by the release of his debut studio album, Wanted on Voyage, in 2014.
