Biography
Hayden Christensen is a Canadian-American actor known for his role as Anakin Skywalker in the Star Wars prequel trilogy. He was born on April 19, 1981, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Christensen began his acting career at a young age and rose to prominence with his performance in the critically acclaimed drama film Life as a House in 2001. However, it was his role as the conflicted Jedi Knight, Anakin Skywalker, in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones (2002) and Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith (2005) that catapulted him to international fame. His portrayal of the iconic character garnered both praise and criticism, but it undeniably made him a household name. After the Star Wars franchise, Christensen continued to work in film, appearing in movies like Jumper (2008), Takers (2010), and Vanishing on 7th Street (2010). Despite showcasing his versatility as an actor, he never quite reached the same level of success as he did with Star Wars. Christensen has also dabbled in other creative spheres, including producing and directing. He co-founded Lacuna Films and has produced several independent films. In 2018, he made his directorial debut with the drama film Little Italy, starring Emma Roberts. Outside of his acting career, Christensen maintains a relatively private personal life. He was in a long-term relationship with actress Rachel Bilson, with whom he has a daughter. While the couple separated in 2017, they remain committed parents.
