James Roday is an American actor, director, and screenwriter known for his role as Shawn Spencer in the TV series Psych. He was born on April 4, 1976, in San Antonio, Texas. His birth name is James David Rodriguez, but he decided to go by James Roday as a stage name. Roday developed a passion for acting from a young age and studied theater at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.
