Biography
John Bon Jovi is an American singer, songwriter, and actor, best known as the founder and prominent member of the rock band Bon Jovi. He was born on March 2, 1962, in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, USA. Bon Jovi’s passion for music began at an early age, and he started playing guitar when he was just thirteen. In high school, he formed his first band, playing gigs at local clubs and events. His talent didn’t go unnoticed, and in 1983, he formed the rock band Bon Jovi along with guitarist Richie Sambora, keyboardist David Bryan, drummer Tico Torres, and bassist Alec John Such. The band’s breakthrough came with their third studio album, Slippery When Wet, released in 1986. It spawned several hit singles, including Livin’ on a Prayer and You Give Love a Bad Name, which propelled Bon Jovi to international fame. With his charismatic stage presence and signature raspy voice, Bon Jovi became a rock icon of the 1980s and 1990s. Apart from his success with Bon Jovi, John Bon Jovi has also pursued a solo career. He released his first solo album, Blaze of Glory, in 1990, which was also the soundtrack for the film Young Guns II. The album included the hit single Blaze of Glory, which reached number one and earned him a Golden Globe Award. Throughout his career, Bon Jovi has consistently delivered chart-topping albums, earning numerous awards and accolades. They have sold over 130 million records worldwide, making them one of the best-selling rock bands of all time. In recognition of their contributions to music, Bon Jovi was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2018.
