Kerr Smith is an American actor born on March 9, 1972, in Exton, Pennsylvania. He gained recognition for his role as Jack McPhee on the popular television drama series Dawson’s Creek. Smith’s interest in acting began during his high school years when he participated in several plays and musicals. In 1996, Kerr Smith made his feature film debut in the movie Final Vendetta. However, it was his role as the sensitive and openly gay character Jack McPhee on Dawson’s Creek that brought him widespread fame. Jack’s storyline on the show was groundbreaking, as it portrayed LGBTQ+ issues during a time when representation was still relatively rare on television. After Dawson’s Creek concluded in 2003, Smith continued to work in both television and film. He appeared in various shows such as Charmed, Eli Stone, and Leverage, showcasing his versatility as an actor. In the film world, he starred in movies like Final Destination, My Bloody Valentine 3D, and Knights of the South Bronx. In recent years, Smith has also made a transition to producing and directing.
