His father was an advertising executive, and his mother was a photographer. Wilson attended St. Mark’s School of Texas, where he developed an interest in acting. After completing high school, he studied acting at the Occidental College in Los Angeles. Alongside his brother Owen Wilson, he co-wrote and starred in a short film called Bottle Rocket, which caught the attention of director Wes Anderson. This led to the feature-length film adaptation of the same name in 1996, marking Luke Wilson’s breakthrough role. Throughout his career, Wilson has appeared in a diverse range of films, showcasing his versatility as an actor. Some of his notable movies include Rushmore (1998), The Royal Tenenbaums (2001), Old School (2003), and Idiocracy (2006).
