Maria Shriver, born on November 6, 1955, in Chicago, Illinois, is an American journalist, author, and former television anchor. She comes from a prominent political family ヨ her mother, Eunice Kennedy Shriver, was a member of the Kennedy family, and her father, Sargent Shriver, was a diplomat and politician. Shriver graduated from Georgetown University in 1977, where she studied American studies. She then pursued a career in journalism and began working as a writer and producer for various networks, including CBS, NBC, and ABC. In 1984, she became a co-anchor of CBS Morning News, making her one of the first women to hold such a position. However, it was during her time as a correspondent for NBC News that Shriver gained widespread recognition. She covered various noteworthy events, including the fall of the Berlin Wall and the 1988 Summer Olympics. Her reporting skills and on-screen presence made her a respected journalist in the industry. Aside from her journalism career, Shriver has dedicated herself to various philanthropic endeavors. She has been an advocate for Alzheimer’s research, raising awareness about the disease and its impact on families.
