Biography

Matthew Broderick is an accomplished American actor, known for his versatile performances in both film and theater. He was born on March 21, 1962, in New York City, USA. Broderick’s journey in the entertainment industry began at a young age when he made his acting debut on Broadway at 17 years old. His breakthrough came in 1983 when he played the lead role of Eugene Morris Jerome in Neil Simon’s play, Brighton Beach Memoirs, which earned him critical acclaim and a Tony Award nomination. Following his successful stage career, Broderick transitioned into film and landed his first significant role in the 1986 movie Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. His portrayal of the charismatic and mischievous high school student, Ferris Bueller, quickly turned him into a household name and established him as a talented comedic actor. Throughout his career, Broderick has demonstrated his versatility by taking on various roles across different genres. He tackled a dramatic role in the 1989 film Glory, for which he received widespread acclaim.
