Biography
Miesha Tate, born on August 18, 1986, is an American former mixed martial artist (MMA) and current MMA commentator. Hailing from Tacoma, Washington, Tate began wrestling at a young age, competing at the state level in high school and later transitioning to MMA. Tate made her professional MMA debut in 2007 and quickly gained recognition for her skills on the mat. Nicknamed Cupcake, she established herself as a fierce competitor in the women’s bantamweight division. Known for her tenacity, durability, and strong grappling capabilities, Tate garnered a loyal fan base throughout her career. In 2011, Tate joined Strikeforce, one of the premier MMA organizations at the time. She reached the pinnacle of her career in 2016 when she defeated Holly Holm at UFC 196, earning the women’s bantamweight championship title.
