Paulette Goddard was an American actress, born on June 3, 1910, in Whitestone Landing, Queens, New York. She was of Dutch, English, and Jewish descent. Paulette had a fascinating life, starting her career in the entertainment industry at a young age. Goddard had a difficult upbringing, losing her father at a young age and her mother being unable to care for her. She spent her childhood in foster homes, but her perseverance and talent eventually led her to pursue a career in modeling and acting. In the early 1930s, Goddard began modeling, which opened doors for her in the film industry. She made her debut in Hollywood in 1932, appearing in small roles in films like The Kid from Spain and Kid Millions. Her breakthrough role came in 1936 when she starred alongside Charlie Chaplin in the classic film Modern Times. Her natural talent and charming on-screen presence made her an instant success.
