Roberto Baggio is an Italian former professional footballer who is widely considered one of the greatest forwards of his generation. He was born on February 18, 1967, in Caldogno, Italy. Baggio began his professional career in 1982, playing for Vicenza in Serie C1. He quickly caught the attention of bigger clubs with his exceptional skill and technique on the pitch. In 1985, he made a move to Fiorentina, where he showcased his talent and became one of the league’s most exciting players. During his career, Baggio played for several prominent Italian clubs, including Juventus, AC Milan, Bologna, and Inter Milan. However, it was during his time with Juventus from 1990 to 1995 that he achieved his greatest success. He won numerous titles, including the UEFA Cup, Coppa Italia, and the Serie A championship. Despite his achievements at the club level, Baggio is best known for his performances on the international stage. He represented the Italian national team from 1988 to 2004 and earned 56 caps, scoring 27 goals. Baggio’s most memorable moment came in the 1994 FIFA World Cup when he led Italy to the final but famously missed a penalty in the shootout, costing his team the title.
