Sharon Janny den Adel is a Dutch singer-songwriter and the lead vocalist of the symphonic metal band Within Temptation. She was born on July 12, 1974, in Waddinxveen, Netherlands. Den Adel became interested in music at a young age, and she began taking keyboard and singing lessons. She formed Within Temptation in 1996 with her partner, Robert Westerholt.
