Skylar Grey is an American singer, songwriter, and record producer known for her soulful vocals and introspective lyrics. She was born on February 23, 1986, in Mazomanie, Wisconsin, as Holly Brook Hafermann. From a young age, Grey showed a keen interest in music and began playing piano at the age of six. She further developed her musical talents throughout her childhood, learning to play multiple instruments and writing her own songs. This dedication eventually led her to pursue a career in music. Grey first gained recognition in 2010 when she collaborated with Eminem and Rihanna on the hit song Love the Way You Lie. This critical and commercial success propelled her into the spotlight and established her as a talented songwriter. She continued to collaborate with various artists on popular tracks, including Dr. Dre, Diddy, and Kid Cudi. In 2011, Grey released her debut solo album titled Invinsible, which showcased her unique blend of pop, rock, and electronic music.
