Tina Turner, born Anna Mae Bullock on November 26, 1939, is a legendary American singer, songwriter, and actress. Hailing from Brownsville, Tennessee, Tina’s captivating voice and electrifying stage presence have made her one of the most influential and iconic figures in the history of rock music. Turner’s musical journey began in the 1950s when she joined a rhythm and blues group called Kings of Rhythm. It was during this time that she met Ike Turner, a talented musician who would later become her husband and musical partner. The duo formed the Ike & Tina Turner Revue, gaining recognition for their high-energy performances and hit singles like River Deep ﾖ Mountain High and Proud Mary. However, despite their success, Tina endured an abusive relationship with Ike. In 1976, she summoned the courage to leave the marriage and embarked on a solo career. The 1980s witnessed a remarkable resurgence for Tina Turner as she released her solo album Private Dancer, which catapulted her into global stardom. The album spawned several chart-topping hits, including What’s Love Got to Do with It and We Don’t Need Another Hero. Beyond her musical achievements, Turner’s magnetic stage presence led her to venture into acting.
