Vera Dushevina is a former Russian professional tennis player who was born on October 6, 1986, in Moscow, Russia. She was introduced to tennis at a young age and quickly showed great potential in the sport. Dushevina turned professional in 2003 and embarked on a successful career on the WTA Tour. During her career, Dushevina achieved a career-high singles ranking of 31 in the world in September 2008. Known for her powerful groundstrokes and solid serve, she had notable victories over top-ranked players and consistently competed in Grand Slam tournaments. Dushevina’s career highlights include reaching the fourth round of the Australian Open in 2005 and the third round of both the French Open and Wimbledon.
