Virna Lisi was an Italian actress and beauty icon, born on November 8, 1936, in Ancona, Italy. She began her acting career in the late 1950s, captivating audiences with her stunning looks and magnetic performances. Lisi became a prominent figure in the Italian cinema during the 1960s and 1970s, starring in numerous successful films. Her breakthrough role came in 1958 with the movie La Donna Del Giorno (The Woman of the Day), where she portrayed a seductive and independent woman. Throughout her career, Lisi showcased her versatility by successfully transitioning between dramatic and comedic roles. In 1965, Lisi gained international recognition when she starred alongside Marcello Mastroianni in the critically acclaimed film Casanova ’70, directed by Mario Monicelli. Her performance in the movie earned her a nomination for the prestigious Golden Globe Award for Best Actress. Lisi’s beauty and elegance captivated Hollywood as well, leading her to work with renowned directors such as George Cukor and Blake Edwards. She shared the screen with iconic actors like Frank Sinatra, Jack Lemmon, and Rock Hudson in movies such as Assault on a Queen and Not with My Wife, You Don’t!
