Biography

Vivien Leigh was a highly acclaimed British actress best known for her iconic portrayal of Scarlett O’Hara in the 1939 film Gone with the Wind. Born on November 5, 1913, in Darjeeling, India, Leigh spent her early years in British India before attending boarding school in England. Her love for acting blossomed during her time at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, where she honed her skills and established a foundation for her future success. Leigh’s breakthrough came when she was cast as Scarlett O’Hara in Gone with the Wind, a role that catapulted her to stardom and earned her an Academy Award for Best Actress.
