Wentworth Miller is an American actor and screenwriter, best known for his role as Michael Scofield in the television series Prison Break. He was born on June 2, 1972, in Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire, England, to an American father and a British mother. However, his family relocated to Brooklyn, New York when he was just a year old. Miller developed an interest in the performing arts from a young age and attended Princeton University, where he earned a degree in English literature. After graduating, he started his career in Hollywood, initially landing small roles in various television shows such as Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Time of Your Life. Miller’s breakthrough role came in 2005 when he was cast as the lead character in Prison Break. The show became an instant hit and Miller’s portrayal of the intelligent and determined Michael Scofield garnered critical acclaim, earning him a Saturn Award nomination for Best Actor in a Television Series. Following the success of Prison Break, Miller continued to work in both film and television. He appeared in movies like Resident Evil: Afterlife and The Loft, and also made guest appearances in popular TV shows such as Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and House. Throughout his career, Miller has been open about his struggles with mental health and his experiences as a gay man.
