Within Temptation is a Dutch symphonic metal band formed in 1996 in Waddinxveen, Netherlands. The band comprises founding members Sharon den Adel (lead vocals) and Robert Westerholt (guitars), along with Jeroen van Veen (bass), Martijn Spierenburg (keyboards), Ruud Jolie (guitars), and Mike Coolen (drums). Within Temptation gained prominence in the early 2000s with their unique blend of symphonic metal and rock elements.
