Bruce Boxleitner is an American actor and writer, best known for his roles in several popular television shows and movies. He was born on May 12, 1950, in Elgin, Illinois. Boxleitner initially pursued a career in baseball, playing for the United States Army during the Vietnam War. However, after an injury, he decided to follow his passion for acting. Boxleitner’s breakthrough role came in 1982 when he portrayed the character of Alan Bradley and his alter ego, Tron, in the science fiction film Tron. This role paved the way for many opportunities in the entertainment industry. He continued to gain recognition for his work in the television series How the West Was Won and Scarecrow and Mrs. King. He received critical acclaim and a Primetime Emmy nomination for his performance in the latter.
