Biography
Craig David is a British singer, songwriter, and DJ, born on May 5, 1981, in Southampton, England. He gained fame in the late 1990s and early 2000s with his unique blend of R&B, garage, and pop music. David’s interest in music began at a young age, and he started writing songs and playing the guitar in his early teens. He rose to prominence in 1999 when he featured on the Artful Dodger’s hit single Re-Rewind (The Crowd Say Bo Selecta) which reached number two on the UK Singles Chart. This collaboration led to a record deal with Wildstar Records. In 2000, David released his debut album, Born to Do It, which catapulted him to international stardom. The album spawned several hit singles, including Fill Me In and 7 Days, both reaching number one on the UK charts. Born to Do It sold over 8 million copies worldwide, establishing David as a rising star in the music industry. Throughout his career, David has released multiple successful albums, including Slicker Than Your Average in 2002 and The Story Goes… in 2005. He has also collaborated with various artists, such as Sting, Tinchy Stryder, and Bastille. Despite taking a hiatus from the music industry for a few years, David made a comeback in 2016 with his critically acclaimed album, Following My Intuition. The album reached number one on the UK Albums Chart, and its lead single, When the Bassline Drops, received significant acclaim.
