Deborah Harry, born on July 1, 1945, is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. She initially rose to fame as the lead vocalist of the popular rock band Blondie, which became one of the most successful bands of the late 1970s and early 1980s. Born Angela Tremble in Miami, Florida, Deborah Harry was adopted by Richard and Catherine Harry, and grew up in New Jersey. She displayed a passion for music from a young age, and after graduating from college, she moved to New York City to pursue a career in the music industry. In the early 1970s, Harry began performing with various bands and exploring different musical genres. It was in 1974 when she co-founded Blondie with guitarist Chris Stein.
