Biography
John Francis Daley is an American actor, screenwriter, and director. He was born on July 20, 1985, in Wheeling, Illinois. Daley began his acting career at a young age and gained early recognition for his role as Sam Weir in the critically acclaimed television series Freaks and Geeks (1999-2000). After the show’s cancellation, Daley continued to work in Hollywood, taking on various roles in films such as Waiting… (2005) and View from the Top (2003). However, it was his portrayal of Lance Sweets in the long-running crime drama series Bones (2007-2014) that catapulted him to widespread fame. Daley’s talents extend beyond acting, as he has also proven himself as a talented screenwriter and director. He co-wrote the highly successful comedy film Horrible Bosses (2011), which led to him co-writing and co-directing its sequel, Horrible Bosses 2 (2014). Additionally, he co-wrote the screenplay for the critically acclaimed dark comedy Game Night (2018). In recent years, Daley has shifted his focus towards directing, making his directorial debut with the comedy film Vacation (2015), a sequel to the popular National Lampoon’s Vacation franchise.
