Kristen Wiig is an American actress, comedian, writer, and producer who rose to fame for her work on the sketch comedy show, Saturday Night Live. She was born on August 22, 1973, in Canandaigua, New York. Wiig attended the University of Arizona and later pursued a career in acting, moving to Los Angeles. She initially found success as a member of the improvisational sketch group, The Groundlings.
