Biography
Lennox Lewis is a retired British-Canadian professional boxer, born on September 2, 1965, in West Ham, London, England. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest heavyweight boxers of all time. Lewis’ interest in boxing began at the age of 12, and he quickly established himself as a talented and powerful athlete. He won numerous amateur titles, including the gold medal at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, South Korea, competing for Canada. After turning professional in 1989, Lewis enjoyed an incredibly successful career, becoming the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world. Throughout his career, he held various championship titles, including the WBC, WBA, and IBF belts. Notable among his achievements were two victories against heavyweight legend Mike Tyson, first in 2002 and then in 2003. These wins solidified Lewis’ status as one of the greatest heavyweights in boxing history. Lewis decided to retire from professional boxing in 2004 with an impressive record of 41 wins, 2 losses, and 1 draw. He left the sport as the reigning heavyweight champion, having successfully defended his titles against formidable opponents throughout his career.
