Marcello Mastroianni was an Italian film actor, widely regarded as one of the greatest actors in the history of cinema. He was born on September 28, 1924, in Fontana Liri, Italy. Mastroianni came from a humble background, as his father worked as a carpenter and his mother as a housemaid. His career in the film industry started in the late 1940s, and he gained recognition for his performances in Italian neorealist films. Mastroianni’s breakthrough came in 1954 with the iconic film La Strada, directed by Federico Fellini. This collaboration with Fellini marked the beginning of a successful partnership that would last for several decades and produce numerous acclaimed films.
