Matt Damon is an accomplished American actor, screenwriter, and producer. He was born on October 8, 1970, in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Damon grew up in a modest household with his mother Nancy Carlsson-Paige, a professor, and his father Kent Damon, a stockbroker. He attended Harvard University but dropped out before completing his degree to pursue a career in acting. With his childhood friend and fellow actor Ben Affleck, Damon wrote the screenplay for the critically acclaimed drama Good Will Hunting (1997).
