Nelly, whose real name is Cornell Iral Haynes Jr., is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. He was born on November 2, 1974, in Austin, Texas. Nelly gained widespread fame and recognition during the early 2000s with his debut album Country Grammar. Growing up in St. Louis, Missouri, Nelly developed a passion for music at a young age. He formed a rap group called St. Lunatics and began performing at various local events.
