Oona Chaplin is a British-Spanish actress born on June 4, 1986, in Madrid, Spain. She comes from a long line of famous actors, being the granddaughter of Charlie Chaplin and the great-granddaughter of playwright Eugene O’Neill. Raised in both Spain and Switzerland, Oona grew up in a multicultural environment, which greatly influenced her career choices. She developed a passion for acting at a young age and decided to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. After completing her studies at Gordonstoun School in Scotland, Oona Chaplin attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, where she received formal training in acting. In 2007, Oona made her film debut in the Spanish drama film, Inconscientes, directed by Joaquin Oristrell.
